A heartfelt apology

This here is a shout-out and an apology to all my people who actually supported and appreciated my writing. You know who you are 😉

It wasn’t until the evening that I sat down to write the same that I realized the gravity of the situation I had put myself in. All that come out was incomprehensive, nonsensical gibberish and the entire storyline I had came crashing down with glaring plot-holes.

Well, Let me start from the beginning, After writing the empty canvas my next plan was to write a mini-series (Yup! That’s exactly what I thought too). The genre being a young adult – Babylonian – Greek myth combination. That’s right people! One blog post and I was prepared to be J.K. Rowling (I’m so sorry J.K!) I had started out with a few character sketches as well as a few possible story-lines and it all seemed like a great idea at the moment.

But still I didn’t give up (You could either call it tenacity or foolhardiness) I still kept working on the same. The story-line kept progressing until the story literally progressed right out of my life. I had a few other commitments and I ended up keeping this on the back-burner. And then well, Life happened. I sort of got lost in the everyday and before I knew it a few months had already gone by.

That along with the addition of a crisis in the family sort of drew my mind away from blogging and writing. However, I’ve learnt a few key lessons from this and I’m positive I’ll be working on these right away.

First : Dreaming is convenient and great, working on your dreams without focus is inconvenient and a pain in the nose plus you can’t derive any joy from it that way.

Second : Don’t bite off more than you can chew – I certainly would love to complete the series one day but I’m not trying to be JK in an instant.

Third : Immense respect for those who’ve successfully written and published a book

What next?

The next thing I plan on doing is allocate a certain time every day towards growing and maintaining this blog and what better way to start off than being accountable for the mistakes of the past.

Further I plan on currently putting up one post every week and then slowly scaling it up as time goes by. Meanwhile here’s what I’d like you, my dear reader, to help me with.
